Kredittkortninja is a credit card comparison service, operated by Axo Finans AS, an authorised financial agent registered with Finanstilsynet. This page explains how we make money, how we select cards and how we ensure our content remains editorially independent.
How we make money
Kredittkortninja earns money through commission from card issuers when a user becomes a customer through links on the site. The commission is paid by the issuer to Axo Finans AS as a financial agent. Comparing cards and submitting an application is free of charge for you as a user.
How commission affects us
Commission does not affect:
- The interest rate or terms you receive from the issuer.
- Which cards we show.
- The order in which the cards appear on the comparison pages.
- The assessments and positioning we give each card.
Commission does affect:
- We have a commercial incentive to operate the service. Without the commission, the comparison would have to be paywalled or advertising-funded.
- We select cards from issuers we have an agreement with via Axo Finans. That means there are cards in the Norwegian market that are not in our comparison.
How we select cards
We compare five credit cards, chosen to cover the most important use cases in the Norwegian market:
- Travel: Bank Norwegian credit card.
- Online shopping: Morrow Bank credit card.
- Lowest rate: Instabank credit card.
- Fee free with the highest credit limit: TF Bank Mastercard.
- In-store discounts: re:member credit card.
The selection is reviewed quarterly. Any change is justified in an editorial update on the relevant card page.
How we assess cards
Each card receives an editorial assessment based on publicly available information from the issuer, documented insurance terms and pricing examples set out in line with Finanstilsynet's guidelines. The assessments are updated when the issuer makes material changes.
Our independence
Kredittkortninja is operated by Axo Finans AS, which is supervised by Finanstilsynet. We comply with the Marketing Control Act, consumer protection legislation and the Financial Agreements Act. We show the effective interest rate on every card page, disclose applicant requirements and present rate examples in line with good marketing practice.
